Ducati Island Returns to the United States Grand Prix! - Cycle News

Cupertino, Calif (20 July, 2011) – For the fifteenth consecutive year, Ducati Island will return to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca with a new layout and more attractions than ever.

Located on the island within the lagoon between turns two and three at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Ducati Island is open to all motorcycle enthusiasts and race fans in attendance. They will be treated to an entertaining mix of exhibitions from Ducati partners, technical demonstrations, new product displays, and the legendary Ducati Fashion shows. Enthusiasts that purchased the Ducati Ticket Package will have preferred Ducati motorcycle parking on the Island and will congregate at the Ducati Grandstand on turn four to watch the race. In addition, Ducati owners will receive extra benefits such as Ducati Gear Check and access to the Ducati Owners Hospitality area.

MotoGP VIP Experience Sweepstakes:

Win the opportunity to watch the MotoGP race from the Ducati Corse Pit Garage! Visitors of Ducati Island can enter for a chance to win a once in a lifetime experience. The winner will be drawn on Sunday.

Make A Wish Silent Auction:

A silent auction will be held on Ducati Island to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation, Nicky Hayden’s favorite charity. Ducati partners and industry friends, such as Mercedes AMG, Puma, Oakley and Spider Grips, will team up in donating auction items including Ducati MotoGP memorabilia that will be autographed by Ducati team riders.

Ducati Track Walk

On Friday, July 22 at 5:30PM, Ducati enthusiasts will have the opportunity to discover the legendary racetrack of Laguna Seca on an hour-long walk led by 2011 Daytona 200 Winner, Jason DiSalvo.

Ducati Fashion Shows

On Saturday and Sunday, the energy and glamour of Ducati Fashion will invade the main stage of Ducati Island twice a day.

Ducati Community

Attendees will be welcomed to join the Ducati Community, an online community of Ducati enthusiasts. After joining, members will be invited to share pictures and videos of happenings on the Island in real time via the Ducati Community mobile applications.

Monster Challenge

A promotional exhibit for the 2011 Monster Challenge will be on display with the opportunity for visitors to vote online for their favorite Monster Challenge entries.

Ducati Service Area

The Ducati Service team will be on hand to present the Ducati Master Tech program, through a series of four Q&A sessions with enthusiasts, covering everything from the Ducati Safety Pack to Öhlins suspension setup.

Ducati Performance Exhibition

Ducati Performance representatives will be available to present the many opportunities for Ducati customization with state of the art components. The display will be focused on the latest arrivals in the Ducati product range – the Ducati Diavel and the Multistrada 1200. Visitors will also have the opportunity to accessorize their own Ducati on the Ducati web configurator. Finally, the new MotoGP Replica collection of the Monster Art project will make its debut on the Island, personalized with the distinctive emblems and graphics that are the hallmarks of the “The Doctor” and the “Kentucky Kid.”

Ducati Shop

The latest in Ducati fashion will be available for purchase on the Island, including the new Ducati Team replica gear.

Ducati Caffè and Ducati Owners Hospitality

A selection of Italian menu items will be available for purchase at the Ducati Caffè open to the public. Ducati Owners will have a private Ducati Caffè available in the Ducati Owners Hospitality Area, where they will have a chance to relax with an espresso and watch the action on the racetrack via a live feed.

Ducati Partners

Major Ducati partners have joined the Island for 2011 to enhance the visitor experience: AMG Mercedes will have a special presence in the Ducati Owners Hospitality, showing the breathtaking Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster and a brand new Mercedes-Benz CL63 AMG. Puma will be activating the Puma Social lounge, featuring videos from the recent Puma-Ducati “Lean In” campaign and Öhlins factory representatives will be joining the Ducati Service Area for the Master Tech Q&A sessions.
