DANI PEDROSA HAPPY TO GET SACH!
DANI PEDROSA powered in a stunning victory ahead of reigning World MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo in the ninth round at the Sachsenring in Germany.
The pint-sized Spaniard is still not fully recovered from the shoulder injuries that have wrecked his season, but he outgunned title-chasing Repsol Honda team-mate Casey Stoner from the start.
Stoner had scorched to his sixth pole of the campaign, but it was Pedrosa who made the break before Lorenzo nosed his Yamaha into the lead.
Stoner hit back from fourth to grab the lead on the fifth lap, while behind him Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso were locked in a fast-moving duel.
Lorenzo regained the lead at half-distance, with Pedrosa snatching second from Stoner, but going into the final third of the race Pedrosa found a bit of extra pace and swept into the lead.
Stoner followed him through but was pipped to second spot by Lorenzo, though Pedrosa comfortably took his second win of the campaign by some 1.477secs.
Pedrosa said: “The pace was so high, but at last we had the bike working well and this is the perfect result.
